Placed 2 Limit Orders

I went ahead and put in limit orders for APD and EMR since I will be flying to South Korea tomorrow.  I don't know when I will have internet access so I figured I would place a few orders in case the stock market dips lower.  If APD reaches $77.45 or EMR goes to $45.55 the orders will trigger.  I think these stocks offer a lot of value right now, both are dividend champions with long streaks of rising dividends.  In my opinion many MLPs are trading at attractive prices at the moment, I thought about those as well.

The past two weeks of vacation were awesome.  Now it's time to go back to work.  This time half way around the world, I'm excited!

  1. APD and EMR are both good companies. I'm also hoping for the market to dip lower.

All the best in South Korea!

    1. Thanks D,

So far I like Korea a lot. I am looking forward to seeing more of the country!

  2. Nice moves here. I have to look at APD further, but I do like EMR at these levels and it's currently near the top of my list of potential buys right now. The DGR of EMR leaves a little to be desired, but with a fairly high entry yield coupled with a solid business I'd be happy with mid to high single digit DGR and a high potential for capital safety. It's a strong defensive play, and I'd have it no other way.

    Best wishes!

    1. I noticed the EMR order executed today, I think the price I paid is pretty reasonable. EMR tends to have years with low DGR, I'm okay with that.

Thanks for stopping by man. Best wishes to you as well!

  3. I like where you're going with this. APD is on my watchlist, but I haven't placed the order yet. You would be locking in a 3.3%+ yield on cost at $77.45, which is great. Personally, I am hoping it will skirt closer to its 52-week low. Though that might just be too conservative (or would that be aggressive?) a view to ever get a position.

    1. In my opinion, anything under $80 is acceptable. The APD order I placed came close to executing, but I didn't happen. I'm going to keep the order open for 1 more day to make sure It settles before the ex-date. If the order doesn't fill tomorrow I'll reevaluate.

It might be a good idea to hold out for a better price, but I don't have a crystal ball to tell me the right answers. I don't need to get the best possible price, I just want to be close.

Hey I'll check out your blog when I have more time.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      CI
