December Recap

December was a solid month and a great way to close out 2012.  This month I set a new personal best for dividends, but I expect to do even better in 2013.  I'm looking forward to 2013, it's going to be a great year!  Regular dividends, accelerated dividends, plus special dividends totaled over $500 for the first time.  Obviously this is not yet sustainable, but I'll get there eventually

  1. CI,

Congrats on another great month and on hitting a $1,000 quarter! That's amazing and inspiring. Hopefully I can get there sooner rather than later.

    1. Thanks PIP! I'm certain it won't take you long with that massive savings rate you're running.

  2. CI,

You're killing it man. Great job on the dividend income. That's a heck of a list that's paying you. Think of all the employees out there working for all these companies in your portfolio. They're working and sending you a small piece of the fruits of that labor.

    Keep it up!

    Best wishes.

    1. Haha I never thought about it like that before, but it's true. I'll be interested to see what your month looked like. I bet it's pretty similar to mine. Happy holidays!

  3. Congratualtions. I see that Intel (INTC) is in your portfolio. I think that that company will rebound in 2013. Good luck in 2013!

    1. INTC seems to have extreme ups and downs, but I'm happy to own some shares. Thanks Brett!

  4. I see you are investing in Lending Club, what is your experience so far? I've been with LC for almost three years, achieved 13.46% return and no defaults or late notes at all.

Congrats on your dividend income. It is very impressive. I wish good luck and all best in 2013 and I also look at the new year with optimism. Great job.

    1. Hi Martin! I've only been with Lending Club for maybe 3 months, but so far it has been fantastic! I've been adding $50/month but am considering upping that amount. I think I'm going to wait to see how it works with taxes before going crazy with it. I post periodic updates about LC and will probably do one in this month or February.

I am looking forward to 2013! It's going to be an amazing year, I'm certain of it. I'm taking leave in Thailand next month, and returning home from Korea this summer. First thing I'll do when I come home is drive my car, I miss it dearly.
